Operation Shut Eye's 10,000 Mattress Donation
— by Tempur-Pedic on Nov 22, 2019
Several years ago, our parent company, Tempur Sealy, partnered up with Ashley HomeStore with one mission in mind—Operation Shut Eye. Operation Shut Eye is dedicated to helping America’s Special Operations Forces deliver much-needed mattresses to service personnel across the country.
Each month, we work with Darkhorse Benefits—a nonprofit organization that improves the lives of veterans—to donate multiple truckloads of Tempur-Pedic® mattresses to Special Operations service members. Veterans Day 2019 provided the perfect opportunity to celebrate our veterans and continue our work with Operation Shut Eye. When Operation Shut Eye arrived at Fort Campbell, we knew this delivery was particularly special. This not only marked the 10,000th mattress donation, but it was also close to our headquarters’ home. Fort Campbell straddles our Kentucky border with Tennessee, which made this donation especially memorable.
"Each of the many Operation Shut Eye donation events throughout the year are special to us, but this one stands out since Tempur Sealy is a Kentucky-based company," said Steve Rusing, Senior Vice President of Sales for Tempur Sealy. "We appreciate any chance to thank the service personnel who allow us to sleep safely at night, and it's an honor to help them get a great night's sleep in return."
We’re continuously working to bring Operation Shut Eye to other Special Operations Forces units, and excited for the future donations we have planned in the coming months.
