Eight Years Later - Still very Happy

"I bought the Basic Ergo Queen Bed Frame and Mattress for my then 22 year old son. He had sustained a very severe Traumatic Brain Injury and at the time, was nearly totally immobile. The mattress made it unneccessary for me to turn him every 2 hours, allowing me a welcome night of much needed sleep. He was able to use the controls and adjust the positions of his bed and be comfortable and watch television, giving him some slight independence. As he has improved physically and cognitively, he loves his bed. Yes, we had to have the base worked on once and the rollers replaced, but that is all. 2 years ago I bought a big thick Tempurpedic for myself, I can't remember which one, but it kind of has a pillow top, and I absolutely love it. I honestly don't understand the complaints. I love mine, and my son is so happy not to have a bed that looks like a hospital bed. Plus it is far more comfortable for him. Now that he is able to transfer himself in and out of his bed to his wheelchair, he loves to turn in a little early when his favorite team is playing basketball! I would and have highly recommended these mattresses. Having slept on a Sleep Number several times at a friends, I can tell you there is no comparison. Our beds are far superior in my estimation. "

Ego Base Legs Quality

"Do not buy this base. The base that holds the legs broke on one side after just 18 months and we are not overwieght heavy people. The design of how the legs attach to the base is horrible. The welded on backet just broke loose and this is the part the legs screws into. They are very nice at warranty place, but all they do is send you the new legs and you have to manage to lift the base and replace them yourself. By the way a company called Reverie makes the base not Temperpedic."

Stopped working after 1 year of use

"We bought our Tempurpedic mattress and ergo base (queen size) just an year ago (end of August 2011) and have used it for 14 months now.The ergo base stopped working all of sudden when I was trying to adjust upward two days ago. I am petite, under 110lbs and my husband is also normal weight around 170lbs and we didn't even use it on a daily basis. I checked the manual for trouble shooting and tried everything that was listed on the manual to fix the problem but it didn't work. I called Tempurpedic and they were closed for the weekend, great. At least I was glad that the base stopped working soon after adjusting upward a little bit b/c if it was all the way up, I wouldn't be able to sleep on it over the weekend (it is still uncomfortable and my back hurts really bad now). I called Tempurpedic first thing this morning (Monday) and was told that since it's been over a year, the warranty only covers the parts and I have to pay $28 for shipping. I asked when I'd be getting the new parts and the customer service rep said 5 days! What kind of poor customer service is that? Are they expecting people to sleep on a crooked bed for a whole week? She said I had to pay extra for expedited shipping, which I declined. I also don't know how much the labor would cost if I were to call a local technician to install the parts. This is so not worth $1,300 and the poor customer was very disappointing. I would NOT recommend this base to anyone."

I love the Ergo base

"I bought a Tempurpedic Cloud Supreme Mattress in August of 2012 with the Ergo base. I love the adjustable feature and use the massage daily. It helps me to fall asleep ever so gently. As for the bed it is amazing! I bought 2 mattresses b-4 this and had to sell them and lost a lot of money. I have Fybromyalgia and it helps my pressure points. I also get into REM sleep now. I highly recommend both of these. Only drawback is regular sheets pop off in upright position. They sell sheets that stay on and I love them too. This is a lifetime investment you won't regret. Best customer service so far."

Good solid product

"Having retailed Electric Hospital Beds for many years, I feel that the Ergo Adjustable Base is one of the better products on the market. Well made, and easy to use, it gives the user comple flexibility for adjusting the bed, for maximum comfort, or in my case, pain relief. Together with a Tempurpedic mattress, I can now attain a good nights sleep. "

"My husband and I made the worst purchase of our lives. The mattrass and ergo base have been a nightmare. I wake up with a backache each morning and the ergo base is still not working after 5 weeks. Two repair attempts have been made with no results. We want our money refunded for the base. The quality and workmanship of the electronics is poor. Even the repairmen have mentioned that the mechanics of the base is a contined issue they see all of the time."

"I purchased the Contour Select Twin mattresses with Dual King Ergo System. The bed is an enormous disappointment. Not only does the dual Ergo system split apart, so do the mattresses. My husbands comment was - 'Why are we sleeping in hospital beds?'. Be warned: Tempur-Pedic DO NOT take back the Ergo System. They offer advise on how to make the beds stick together - like buy plastic strapping to tie the legs and then they tell you to contact the manufacturer of the Ergo. They don't stand by the product they sell. Very disappointing experience. I doubt they will publish this review as there seem to be no negative reviews on their website. I cannot be the ONLY person experiencing these issues."

"I recently purchased the Ergo Adjustable Base (Twin Long) w/Tempur-Cloud Mattress. I found that the cost was rather high but after sleeping on the system I also found it well worth it. I wish that I had bought one earlier, and so glad I did not go with the "Craftmatic Bed" that I also had looked at. I found that the adjustable bed does exactly what I need for it to do and the Cloud Mattress is very relaxing and comfortable. No more tossing and turning and no waking up with pain in the lower back. Thanks Tempur-Pedic"

"It is a mattress that I do get a lot of rest on, however the added electronics and leaning and tilting is unnecessary and barely every used, and it would be better value to get just one of their regular mattresses. Don't get me wrong, its a comfortable mattress, however the gimmicky reclining feature is not worth your money."

"Other than the name (Ergonomics is the study of work - not sure what that has to do with sleep. I am an ergonomist.) it was very comfortable and adjustible. I would definitely recommed it. Let's work on a new name though."
