Senior Supply Chain Manager
Job Description:
Summary of Primary Function:
Responsible for optimizing supply chain activities and creating value add relationships with all assigned retail customers through effective business management skills. These skills will include relationship management, supply chain capabilities utilization and management, financial and quantitative analysis, along with understanding the interrelationship of processes, technologies as they interface with a cross functional team. The incumbent will effectively create mutually beneficial opportunities for Tempur-Pedic and our customers using appropriate resources, information and personal skills. Identified opportunities will be developed, presented and implemented delivering incremental benefits in sales, service and cost effective executions.
The Supply Chain Advocate will effectively interface with customers and internal business units to improve customer satisfaction. The advocate will have significant external customer contact for the purposes of determining product supply opportunities, disruptive supply patterns and overall customer satisfaction.
Essential Duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Design improvements to supply chain and logistics processes based on customer input
Troubleshoot customer problems as it relates to operation issues along the supply chain
Develop supply chain enhancements which increase retail sales partner customer service to end user consumers
Develop supply chain service provider scorecards with analytics on quality and other critical metrics (ie. fill rates, returns, on-time delivery)
Analyze customer demands to proactively identify areas of opportunity
Determine innovative means of developing and maintaining customer feedback
Assimilate and effectively communicate analytical data, customer score card feedback, sales team input resulting in actionable activities presented in a collaborative environment with customer logistics counterparts, 3PL’s, suppliers and the sales team
Work effectively as a team member with other members of management and the human resources staff
Experience & Other Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS: Qualified candidates will have a background that includes
Extensive operations and project management experience with a Consumer goods company.
Excellent relationship building and alignment building skills.
Demonstrated ability to think cross functionally, influencing change across a consumer goods supply chain.
7 – 10 years relevant experience in supply chain or sales environment.
Proven negotiation and influencing skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas in easy to understand business terms.
Excellent analytical skills and very detail oriented.
Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) from a four year college or university is required
Outstanding verbal, written, multi-tasking and presentation skills.
