"We must own at least 20 "neck pillows" of all types imaginable, since falling asleep whilst sitting up during long periods of travel creates a huge problem in that no real rest is accomplished due to the frequent, jarring awakenings that occur when the head pitches forward suddenly. The shape, highly supportive material, and soft cover of the Temper-Pedic neck pillow is of excellent quality, far-exceeding in functionality the many other brands/types we have tried. I have found that my problem is my head pitching forward, therefore I face the open-end either right or left, if i am able to lean one way or the other, or behind my neck if i must sit straight-up. A button on one side of the gap with a piece of soft fabric containing several buttonholes attached to the opposite side of the gap that could form a bridge across the open end would be the only improvement i would suggest. Before my next trip I plan to add one myself. Kudos on producing a superior product! "

"This pillow is fantastic. HOWEVER, I cannot wholeheartedly recommend it until Tempur-pedic puts a button or snap (preferably a button because they're serviceable) on the two legs of the U-shape. As it is now, I have to pack it INSIDE my suitcase, taking up valuable space. With a button, one could attach it TO his or her suitcase, around a strap or whatever. If Tempur-pedic puts a button on the end, I will buy one for everyone in my family, and probably a new one for myself."

"It does take a little while to get used to. It is rather rigid and it will seem bulky at first. Stick with it for a few weeks because once you adjust to it, it will become one of your best friends. A Suggestion for Tempur-Pedic: Add a snap or button where the end's of the U meet at your throat. This would make it much more ergonomically friendly and more comfortable for sleeping in a air while traveling or kicking back watching television."

"Seeing the possibilities of this pillow during road trips or plane flights, I decided to buy it but found it to be lacking comfort. The material seemed to be more rigid than what I've found in the Comfort Travel Pillow and being a big man with a big neck, the inflexibility felt like it was hurting circulation in my neck. I tried streching it out but it went back. I'd recommend the Comfort Pillow Travel or the All-Purpose Pillow if you're looking for Tempur-Pedic on the go."
