Exceptional But Has Minor Problems

"Blocks out all light, is very comfortable, and fits my large head. There are two things that concern me and which I modified. (1) The end of the Velcro strap frays. My work around was first cutting the frayed ends, then fitting the Velcro strap to my head, and then wrapping two Band-Aids around the joining ends of the Velcro. (2) The two tags that are sewn to the inside of the left eye flap concerned me. They did not come in contact with my eye but they were too close for my comfort. My work around was cutting the tags as close as possible to their stitching, then I applied a small Band-Aid within the flap and over the remaining ends of the tags. Aside from these two concerns, I would definitely recommend this product. It is the best of the five sleep masks that I have owned."

Unbelievable and AMAZING!!!

"I am over 40 and I have never believed in a product enough to return to leave a review, this is my first, I feel that strong about this product. I work the night shift and I have struggled for years being able to fall asleep. I tried this mask and at first was shocked that it was pitch black no light sneaking in at all. (I know other reviews said it but, I didn't REALLY think it would be total darkness, and it is!) You can open your eyes and the foam is just enough pressure around the eyes for total comfort. I went to bed and slept for ten hours. I had no idea what is was like to sleep that long, and have not had problems falling asleep since I received the mask. I also have shared it with friends and they all feel the same way... Just can't believe the comfort and total darkness. I have bought several more as gifts for friends who suffer migraines and they say the mask is a gift from above. "

Am I using it wrong?

"I have tried a number of masks, looking for the perfect one. I had high hopes for this one, coming from such a reputable company. But this mask is way too narrow to block much light. Its' thickness gets in the way of finding comfortable head position. And it kind puts a lot of pressure on the bridge of my nose. I went back to my $9 mask because it works much better. What am I missing?"

Look no further--Buy this sleep mask!

"So here's the deal; I work nights and sleep during the day. I need complete darkness when I sleep for max melatonin production. I've tried bandanas and a sleep mask from walgreesn's. Both were better than nothing, but neither completely blocked all of the light. The Walgreen's mask also wore out too soon. In my quest to find the ultimate sleep mask, I read reviews from those who'd bought the Tempupedic mask. I noted a large number of very high ratings, despite the high price. I also saw some very low ratings. Satisfied customers were consitent in their praise of comfort and complete blocking of light. Disatisfied users were consitent with discomfort when sleeping on thier side---one person mentioned the mask inhibited her sinuses---and I almost always sleep on my side. The bottom line is this: I have great comfort with this mask when sleeping on my sides and any other positions and I have complete light blockage. The mask is squishy and pads my eyes, which feels good. I was amazed at how much better I slept after using the mask. I even have to be careful to not over-sleep, because I sleep so much more soundly. If you are looking for the best sleep mask that will actually improve your sleep, this is it. This Padded, squishey mask comforms to your face and gives you a snuggling feeling. The mask does not produce added heat or make your face hot or contrict nasal breathing. If you need complete darkness and comfort when you sleep, this mask is a must-have and is well worth the price. "

"3rd shifters must have this mask. I sleep during the brightest time of day, and this mask blocks all light. The strap is adjustable and can be moved up and down the head to keep it off the ears, but side-sleepers will have some difficulty adjusting to the extra padding. Once you are used to it, the mask is actually very relaxing. It is a little pricey compared to other products, but the quality makes up for it. Very durable. "

"Very disappointed! I expected a better quality. The mask is small. It looks much bigger on the picture. I paid $10 for shipping but it arrived in envelope, so the box was demaged. The mask is not comfortable at all. It'll leave marks on your face. Bad coverage. I wanted to return it but it was not possible. The item is not returnable. Make sure you read the return policy well before you order. My husband wanted to buy the same brand mattress but after this experience, I think we should look somewhere else."

"I recently purchased my 2nd Tempurpedic eye mask. I bought my first one after our first son was born as my spouse liked the moonlight to shine in the bedroom. I tried 8 other masks, looking for a cheaper replacement over the course of a few months. My nightstand is filled with eye masks after I wore out the straps on my first tempur eye mask. Last December I finally ordered a new one. Pros: - Very Comfortable, most comfortable of any mask I've ever tried (if you keep the strap tight it doesn't slip down over your ears). - Keeps light out - doesn't let in any light what so ever. - Easy to clean (hand wash w/ woolite, blot dry w/ towel and put in window). - Lasted 7 years (albeit I had to safety pin the strap as the Velcro wore out). Cons: - Can get warm (especially with Tempurpedic Mattress as well) - Elastic Strap stretches out over time (need to constantly tighten strap every few months). - Strap is first thing to wear out, need to replace strap (sew new one one or use safety pins once elastic is completely stretched out). - Makes me Lazy - I easily oversleep, mask makes it so dark that even at 9am you don't realize how late it is. I have to travel with the Mask and after using one for almost 10 years can't sleep without it."

"I keep a sleep mask in every spot in my house that i might take a nap. hands down, tempurpedic makes the best sleep mask that i've ever tried, to and no, i do NOT work for the company. if i only had one in every spot... zoinks. seriously though, i ordered my sleep mask ten years ago. i loved it so much that years back i called the company to inquire about ordering more masks so i could gift them to friends and i was told they no longer made them... bummer. so i've tried over the years to take care of the one i have so that it would last. i take it any time i travel or even just for an overnight stay. it has been a light blocking life saver... forget the light blocking cave curtains. i was so excited to learn recently that the tempurpedic eye mask is available again! thanks tempurpedic ! melissa crady louisville, ky"

"Great for keeping all light out, however the big strap is quite uncomfortable. The way it is designed the strap covers your ears so it will be quite warm on your head. This is the first sleep mask that I have had that will keep out 100% of light so it does allow me to sleep longer and not wake up when the sun rises. "

"There is simply no better eye mask. goes around the nose so light doesn't get it like standard eye masks. Plush eye cups rather than a blindfold mean that you can open your eyes with this thing on and see nothing but a dark room, even if you are lying out in the mid-day sun. quite simply perfect."

"The SleepMask is very uncomfortable and it digs into your ears. The strap will not stay on your head when you move even a little. It is impossible to sleep on your side with this. There are much better sleep masks out there for a lot cheaper price. Pass on this purchase!"

"In another month I will have owned this product for a decade. I use it every night -- there's an evil street light right outside our window and it's cheaper than a set of blackout curtains. The eye pockets let you blink without feeling caged. It's great!"

"This is the best product. If you can not stand the slightest bit of light then this product is for you. This sleepmask is more than coomfortable. I have had mind for several years and it looks great. Just wash and let dry. Tempur-Pedic out did themselve. "

"I have been using the Tempur-pedic sleep mask for about 10 years now. There's a street light outside my bedroom window and even though I have blocked direct light from the room, it's still fairly bright. I tried other masks but they really made no difference or they fit wrong. The way this one is contoured means that your face fits into it perfectly without getting any of those weird wrinkles from squashing your face all night. There's no pressure on the eyes, which is great. And most important, it really does block out all light. Everything takes a minute to get used to, so my recommendation is to try it for at least a week even if you think at first that you don't care for it. I'm at a point now where simply putting it on tells my body to go to sleep. All Tempur-pedic products sleep a little warm and I sleep a lot warm, so I usually have two in rotation in order to switch them out in the middle of the night if one gets too sweated. I also found out that these can be washed. That means that you don't need to replace them as often, and that means that the price is really a bargain. I've given these to several friends and my boyfriend uses one when he sleeps over at my place. I really can't recommend them highly enough."

"5 Stars I purchased at least 5 different sleep mask before I purchased the Tempur-Pedic Mask a year ago for my husband. He did not use any of the previous mask more than a night or 2 nights, they were just too uncomfortable and made it was worse than the light. He loves your mask so much I am buying 2 more just in case he loses one or for when it starts to fall apart from wear and tear (he uses it everyday and can't sleep w/o it). I hand wash it on regular basis with lavendar or Eucalyptus soap leaving a nice subtle scent and it hold its shape perfectly. It is soft but blocks out all the light without placing pressure on the eyes. I can't recommend an item more, this design is by far the best in the market today."

"this is the best sleep mask ever!!!! over the years i have tried so many i can't even count. the tempurpedic is by far the best. it provides total darkness while still being comfortable around your head, and allowing room for your eyes. a must have! please do not ever stop making this sleepmask!!!!!"
