"We returned a Cloud Supreme because it was just to soft and although we loved the initial feel it lacked support. The Rhapsody is the BEST ! I understand now why it is a top seller. It is such a wonderfully even luxurious feel. It conforms to your body with the perfect amount of supportive firmness yet provides the perfect layer of softness. It took no time to adjust to it and we are delighted and yes it's worth every penny. As far as purchasing online, I would never do it again. The response time and lack of communication with the delivery service was upsetting to say the least. The product in any case is superb. I will be curious to see if this makes it as an online review. Buy the Rhapsody locally and you will not be disappointed. S & M Langille"

"I wrote a review earlier and I gave the rhapsody only 2 stars, because it was too firm. I am changing my review. It is the perfect bed for me and my wife. It just takes time to go from super firm to comfortably firm. Others recommended that I walk on the bed and that will quicken the process. They were right. We have had the bed for several months now and I love lying in it each night. I am a stomach sleeper and my back doesn't hurt anymore because the bed doesn't sag. The only down side is that I am always warm and these are warmer beds. So I use less sheets. I would like it to be cooler like traditional beds, but I will take it over a sore back any day. We recently stayed in a 4 star hotel for new years eve and I was so happy to be back in my bed. "

"First things first. When you go to the Tempur-Pedic store and test out the beds, remember that they have been used and are broken in. My wife and I spent an hour or so trying different beds in the store and found the Rhapsody felt wonderful. We made it a point to try each bed for five or more minutes prior to making a decision. When our new bed arrived we had two concerns. The smell and the firmness. The smell is normal (from reading reviews) and went away slowly over the first week. It's not the worst smell but noticeable. The firmness was another story. The bed was really firm in comparison to the in-store model. We opened up the windows and walked on it for fifteen minutes for the first three days. Over the first week the bed became better and now in our third week it's just heaven. Be prepared to deal with the smell for a short time and a break-in period. After that, you will have an awesome nights sleep. I would say this bed is in the medium-firm catigory. My wife and the dog have never slept better. Took me a little time but now I wouldn't trade it for anything. Worth the money? YES! "

"I have had the Rhapsody for over a year. The Rhapsody is a firmer than I would have preferred but after time it has softened and I have adjusted. When purchasing be aware that the one on the sales floor will be much softer based on the number of years it has been on display and the number of people who have tested it. If you like a softer feel bed I would recommend the Med/soft or just soft line.... don't expect after the break-in the Rhapsody will be either. I sure wish someone would have informed me! I was expecting my purchase to be firmer than the display but I didn't expect it to take so long to break in. I am in furniture business and I have had the luxury of sleeping on other high quality mattresses much of my life and I am very knowledgeable of construction quality. It takes at least 30 days to become accustom to any new mattress and in 90 days you will know if you have made the right choice. If it doesn't feel right don't hesitate to make the change into a more suitable bed to your liking. Unfortunately, I was not able to take advantage of the 90day return because I made a special purchase or I would have returned it for a softer model. You may pay more upfront but have a 20 year warranty… twice the life expectancy. Most mattresses have a 10 year or less warranty. Just because a mattress is memory foam does not mean it compares to the Tempur-Pedic brand. I can assure you that you get what you pay for!"

"I purchased this mattress a few years ago. My spring mattress hurt my back so much that I couldn’t get out of bed at times. After a week or so getting use to this mattress my back pain is virtually gone and to my surprise, like the commercials, I often wake up in the position I fell asleep in. At times I think the mattress is still a little too firm for me so when I am in the market again I will look for something more in the Medium category. I will never go back to traditional mattresses again!"

"I absolutely love this bed. I had such bad aches and knots in my back and finally talked my husband into trying this out. We went with the Rhapsody because we wanted a somewhat firm mattress- it is perfect for us. My knots are gone and my husband loves it as well. Keep it mind it is a more firm mattress, but if you're okay with that then this one is great. We will never not buy a Tempurpedic again and have now talked both sets of parents into getting the brand."

"We looked at this bed for months before buying it. The major drawback for us was the high price. All the customer reviews said it was worth it in the long run. They were right! As soon as we got this bed it was been wonderful. My husband had immediate relief from his sore back and though it did take me about 1 1/2 weeks to adjust to it, let me tell you it was worth it! We would highly reccomend this bed to everyone! "

"After a year of hoping this bed would mellow out, it just hasn't met any of my hopes for this bed, especially considering the cost. The one in the store was much more comfortable - we actually preferred it to the cloud. Cost wasn't a factor but for as much as we paid, one would hope that we'd at least remotely like it. We don't. It is okay but overall, I wish I hadn't have bought it. The 90 days I had I kept thinking that it just needed more time to adjust but I guess not :( "

"I had been sleeping on a 14 year old mattress. Every morning for the past 5 or so years I've woken up in pain. I accepted this as a fact I've life. My back hurt each morning, but after a few hours I'd feel ok. The very first time I slept on his mattress I woke up pain free. I've had this for a few weeks now and every morning since that first sleep I've woken up pain free. I sleep great now; fall asleep quickly and stay asleep all night. I can sleep on my stomach again, something that was way too uncomfortable on my old mattress. This was honestly much more than I wanted to spend on a mattress, but in the end it was very much worth the money. If I had to do it again I'm not sure I'd get the foundation/box spring. I'm not sure I really need it. I'd do more research on that."

"We have had it for over 2 months, and so far its been good. Its comfortable and firm. It all depends on the temperature of your room and body, if your room is hot, the bed will be softer, if your room is cold the bed will be firmer. If your body is running hot you will be hot, if your body is cold, it will be cold. (reason its called TEMPERpedic) It does smell at first, but goes away, just got to deal with it. Its quite heavy, so making the bed is a little challenge. BUT it is a great bed, and if your a bit overweight, the bed is for you, it stays firm, it doesn't stay dipped. It is pricey, but so so much more better the pillow top beds (pillow top is a joke, for real)So all in all, worth it. "

"So I am not giving it low stars because it is a bad bed. It's just not the bed for me and my wife. We had a regular spring mattress that sagged. Our backs were killing us. We thought we needed a firm bed. So we got the HD Rhapsody, but it was too firm. I had no idea it would be so firm. It didn't feel that firm in the showroom. My tailbone was hurting each morning. The small of my back barely touched the mattress because it is too firm. After one month of waiting for it soften up a little, it never did. So we went in the opposite direction and got the Cloud Luxe. Only just got it, but right away the small of my back has better support and I don't feel the pressure on my tailbone. I feel my body is molding into the bed much better than the firm HD line. I really like the way Tempurpedic beds feel and I think i will be a lifelong fan once I adjust to this type of bed. I think all the lines are good. It's just a matter of picking the right type of firmness. "

"We're in our early 60's and have been sleeping on our new Rhapsody/Grand Ergo base for about 2 weeks now. I could sleep on a floor and be comfortable, but my husband is pickier. He is sleeping very well on this mattress and I don't feel him thrashing about. I have noticed less stiffness in my hips and shoulders in the morning. Others have commented on an odor in a new bed and it is there, but not awful. It is diminishing over time. I was worried the bed would sleep "hot" but it doesn't. I like to be cool and find it perfect for me. My husband is the opposite and is comfortable too. One caveat...the bar that holds the bed on the adjustable Ergo base will interfere with a bed skirt, if you use one. I had to open the seam on our bed skirt where the bar is and slip the skirt over the bar and then hand stitch it back in place. I love being able to adjust the head position for reading or watching TV. I don't get that "ahhh" feeling when I climb into bed and sort of wish we had chosen one of the Cloud versions."

"Though i have'nt given a great rating but overall this mattress performs as a normal mattress. I have been looking at adds and to be honest i am not as happy the way the people in adds look like. biggest drawback is the fall back on the size published as 76" by 80" for a king the mattress is still short by an inch both sides which definitely leaves a gap on both sides of the bed including headboard and footboard. sleeping for more than 5 hours on this mattress causes to make a Reverse Normal Distribution Curve no where close to the advertisement that it shapes to your body. it seems that my whole upper body slants into the mattress but i am able to sleep but not worth the price that we have paid."

"My Husband and I bought the Rhapsody bed a month ago. My husband absolutely loves it. He has zero back pain, and now he can sleep on his side, which he couldn’t do before on our previous bed. While I think the quality is wonderful, the bed itself is not a great match for me. I am a side sleeper and considerably smaller than my husband, so I do not sink into the bed as well, and as a result my shoulders hurt in the morning. I think the bed is well worth the money and a nice compromise for married couples where one spouse likes firm and the other likes soft. That being said, my husband and I have decided to upgrade to the Cloud Luxe. My husband is a little nervous that it might be too soft, but we hope it will give the same support that the Rhapsody bed did. "

"Husband and I bought this bed in June 2009 and LOVE IT! We never want to leave home overnight now! It is great on the back, and both of us are side sleepers and that works well too. We have the Tempur-pedic pillows and sheets also. Definitely has been worth the money--we would purchase another-but oh, we have a 18 years to go on our warranty!!! YAY! We won't need another one until after retirement! Thank you Tempur-pedic!"

"I purchased this bed back in October of 2007 and out of every thing I’ve ever spent money on I defend that this is the best purchase I have ever made. It difficult for me to sleep anywhere else now after being used to how this bed hugs my body. I have a bit of a “bubble but” and normally when I lay on matrice I never get lower back support. The first time I slept on this bed I said to my husband “something feels different on my back” then I realize a bed had never touched my lower back before and this one supports it fully. I’m a rugby player so going to bed sore with shoulder issues or back problems is something I’m used to, but I take for granted how great this bed is for them until I sleep somewhere else and wake up every time I turn in the night because of pain. This is a bed not surgery or medicine so it’s not going to cure you but it is going to make your life 1,000x better. Sleep is 1/3rd of your life, spend the money!"

"How many people name their mattress's ? I never did until I bought this one. I call it "Savior". I have never been much of a sleeper usually getting about 20hrs of sleep a week (on the heavy side), but this mattress makes my 20 hours feel like 40. After being in a horrible motocross accident my back pains were problematic to say the least. This sparked me to side with Tempur-Pedic 7 yrs ago. It took me a good 4 weeks to get used to it. Initially I would wake up with heat sweats from FINALLY getting proper blood circulation. After the initial month, I cannot sleep on anything but... I remark this as the best purchase in my life to date. "

"Not only WOULD I recommend it, but I've been recommending it to everyone who will listen. We have not have the bed a week yet (so maybe I should come back in a year or so and update this review), but the very first night I felt a difference. I woke up the next day and my shoulders didn't hurt and my hips didn't hurt. It was wonderful!! We got the adjustable base (ooohhhh, ahhhh, reading and watching TV in bed has never been so comfortable!!) and Rhapsody pillows too. I used to sleep with 3-4 pillows of varying types/sizes, but this Rhapsody pillow is all I need. It weighs a ton, but my head just sinks in and I fall right to sleep. I can't imagine it getting any better after it's broken in, but they say it will... Thank you TempurPedic, I LOVE your products and keep inviting people into my bedroom to "try out my new bed"!"
