Great Sleep

"I bought the Tempur Contour Select from a Sleepys store in Richmond VA. I would usually wake up with back stiffness and soreness in my lower back. The 1st night on this mattress I awoke to my back feeling great. I had a great nights sleep, but the way that my back felt was the biggest improvement. Thanks for a great product!"

We're in the love-it camp

"It seems people either love the Contour Select or they hate it. We love it. My husband and I agree that it's the most comfortable mattress we've ever slept on. It shapes to the body and provides excellent support. Regular mattresses simply can't do that. We both have some back problems, but this mattress minimizes any discomfort. I did notice a slight odor the first day or so, but it wasn't unpleasant and it dissipated rather quickly. We are completely pleased with our purchase and the service we received from our local Mattress Firm."

Sagging

"I bought my Tempur-Pedic August 27, 2012, it is now 03-29-2013. It was very comfortable then, hoever, It seems to be softer on one side. I sleep on the right side, by myself, and it is not as firm as the left side now. I awaken at night sunk into it. I have to pick myself up to get out of the hole that has formed while I am asleep."

GREAT Bed...BAD Customer Service

"I'm extremely happy with my purchase of the Tempur-Contour Select and the Ergo Advanced Base. The bed is seriously amazing! You have to love a firm bed, in order to love the Contour Select, but I do. My back feels better and I can honestly say that my sleep is the best sleep that I have ever had. I am also a big fan of the Ergo Advanced Base, I think it is worth the price. Not so much for the built in massager (it's pretty weak), but the ability to elevate your head... is a very nice luxury, and I believe helps with my Sleep Apnea. I ordered the bed and base through Tempurpedic directly and I wish that I hadn't. I had a few issues with customer service that were extremely frustrating. I will say that once I got in touch with a Customer Service Supervisor (after several phone calls and requests), my experience was much better. Robert in the Corporate Office was outstanding and was able to see the issues that I had and resolve them. Bottom Line... Tempurpedic has truly outstanding products. Yes, expensive...but I believe worth it. My advice is to buy Tempurpedic, but I would NOT buy directly from Tempurpedic. I would go to your local RC Willey, Mattress Discounters, etc... Price will be the same, but I really believe that the Customer Service will be so much better (and you will get your bed much faster)."

tempur pedic contour select awsome bed

"I had the tempurpedic contour select for about 6 months now and after about 3 months the bed got very comfortable and conforms to you every time I like this bed better than the cloud versions do to you actually sink into the bed and feel your self sinking it feels awesome the only downside is when it time to get up you dont want to you just want to stay laying in the bed and not get out The bed is awesome and I would recommend it to everyone that is looking for one "

I really wanted to like this mattress

"My husband and I both suffer with back pain. His is chronic from auto accidents...mine is more sciatic in nature. Based on reviews and recommendations from friends, we just knew this mattress was going to help us sleep better and wake with less pain. We've had the Contour Select...we like a firm mattress for the back support...for over a year and I can say that we absolutely despise it. After owning the tempurpedic mattress for about 7 months, we compared our pain sleeping on a mediocre hotel mattress for a week with what we experience with our tempur everyday and realized we should have saved a couple grand and bought a decent regular mattress. The tempur mattress is icy cold when I go to bed and then I wake at least a couple times with my back sweating...I'm a back sleeper. We have the ergo design and have tried every sleeping position possible to relieve our back pain. Nothing has worked. I wake up numerous times throughout the night because my back or hips or knees hurt and i have to readjust. The only positives I can say is that I like the way the mattress forms to your body and the adjustable base is good for watching tv or reading in bed....until our lower backs can't stand the pressure. We really wanted to love this mattress but it has been nothing but a waste of money."

tempurpedic contour select

"My wife and I bought this bed 6 months ago. We are glad we did. It is awesome! Yes it cost a lot of money compared to spring mattresses, but there is no comparrison. We bought it at Boscov's department store in Lancaster PA. I recommend them too! It took a few weeks for it break in. When you first get it it will be hard. It is also hard when you first lay on it. Don't let it fool you. You will wake up feeling great. Some poeple tell me they don't like foam mattresses because they get hot laying on them. My wife and I have no problems with that. This bed is made here in the U.S.A.! "

Great Bed

"My hat is off and appreciation to Tempur Pedic. This was my 4th. First was a custom made back in 98-99 for a European King, a regular king for me, then a queen for my parents then a vacation home. That bed went to another house and I needed a new one but this time I thought I would try the Cloud brand, two years later a valley in the bed appeared. I called the warranty dept and they got me situated with a change to the Contour Select. Its been here a week now. I'm so so so much happier with the Contour Select. My thanks to the warranty dept and for allowing me to change to the Contour select. I am so very pleased with the bed. Its really a great product"

This mattress is extra firm...

"Extra firm? More like plywood with a couple inches of foam on top. I wanted to love my Tempurpedic. I slept one night on a mattress topper on the floor, and it was one of the best nights of sleep I've had. The Contour select, however, is much harder than I'd anticipated. It felt fine in the store, but a full night in this bed was a different story. Be aware this bed is EXTRA FIRM and means it. All the positive reviews on this website helped sway me towards this mattress, but upon closer examination, there are several duplicate reviews. "

A lower back killer!

"I thought this was a wonderful mattress when I tried it in the store. I have lower back problems so I was being very careful to stay away from models that were not supportive (soft or saggy). The reviews and the salesman indicated that this model was one of the firmer models and it appeared ideal for my needs. With all the hype about this bed I was sucked in big time. What seemed very comfortable at first was very deceiving. After a few months the mattress began to soften and sag. When I laid down my lower back and rear end would sink about 6-8 inches into the mattress. That produced a painful awakening as my lower back would go out and take hours and back meds to overcome the problem. So I put a pillow under my back to correct this. But the mattress grew softer. When I would lean to pick up something on my nightstand the mattress would hold a leaning sag in the direction of the table. Very odd! Of course my wife loved the miserable thing and after much arguing we let the return period slip away - now being stuck with what amounts to a very long term problem. If you have back issues STAY AWAY from this and all other TemperPedic and similar mattresses. They are not made to remedy back ailments. The manufacturer does not warn of this problem. But buyer beware! Please don't get stuck like I have - having to endure a very expensive SAGGY, SOFT mattress that is going to make you miserable for years to come."

BEST BED YOUR MONEY CAN BUY

"I am a toss and turn kind of sleeper. For years, my husband and I slept on this regular kind of matress where my husband constantly complained his body was sore or his back was out of whack. I never slept great and for years I have looked at purchasing this bed. We spend most of our life sleeping why not sleep well, hard and sound? Waking up tired should NEVER happen. Yes you are spending 3k for a matress but think about it as one of the wisest investments you have made so far! I purchased this bed 9/27/2012 and got it delivered 9/28/2012. I tested it at the store and loved it. Tested it here at home and I am inlove with it and I cannot wait for my first night of sleep in it. The smell that people keeping talking about since its a new product, it smells kinda nice actually. Clean, wheat, like a fresh dirt smell almost. I love this smell and I hope it never goes away. The comfort of this matress is unbelievable. You lay in it and you hope for the rain to start falling so you can stay in bed all day and watch movies. I got mine "firm" which I thought was the best choice. I am thrilled to have this bed and I am a big fan of this Tempurpedic company. So many companies try to make replica versions which by no means are up to standards nor come even close to the real Tempurpedic brand. My husband and I move around all day, we are athletes and this is the kind of bed we have been dreaming of and needing all our life. EVERYONE needs a bed like this especially if you are an athlete, old, back problems, toss and turn sleeper. "

Not a fan of this bed at all!

"My husband and I purchased this bed after spending much time laying on it in the mattress store (20 minutes on this bed alone). We were so excited to have it delivered. We were aware that it would be harder when we first got it than the one in the store, but apparently we didn't understand that it would feel like laying on a flat rock or a concrete floor. We tried to get used to it and even had to contact customer support for ways to soften it up. We tried the tricks and it did eventually start to feel a little softer, but it really doesn't have any of the conforming properties that the one in the store did. The past month and a half we have gotten very little sleep and wake up in pain every day. I wonder if we just received a defective mattress because all of the other reviews are good, but I'm not willing to take a chance and try a new one. I will have to pay a fortune to send this one back and the next one won't have another in-home trial. I'm not willing to risk being stuck with a mattress I hate until it is paid off because I can't trust myself to pick out another Tempurpedic and "hope" it's better. I definitely recommend spending hours in the mattress store. Maybe even take a nap on the bed if you can before purchasing. Otherwise it will cost between $200-$400 to send the darn thing back and with that, I could have purchased an inner spring mattress that I hate equally as much. I hope my experience with customer service when I call to return it goes well and that the rep isn't too pushy and accepts the mattress back without any hassle. I will post on that after I call."

Never slept better

"From Rhapsody to Contour Select is like a night and day experience. From the beginning, something was not right but kept the mattress anyway thinking I will get adjusted to it soon. After 3 years of increasing back pains, I decided to call Tempur-pedic and explained my situation. I spoke with Elizabeth who was extremely professional and sympathetic. Her clear communication expressed in a soothing tone completely put me at ease. She helped me decide on exchanging my troublesome medium-firm Rhapsody to a firm Contour Select. Tempurpedic replaced the base foundation and mattress and I received delivery within two and a half days. Since sleeping on Contour Select, my back pains are going away and I sleep so soundly. I don't even move as I find myself in the same position upon waking up in the morning. (With Rhapsody, I must have moved more than a hundred times each night just to feel comfortable.) This is the way to go for those who are looking for a firm mattress yet supports your body without losing its firmness. (Having said all the above, I must add that the delivery guy was extoling the virtues of his bed, the Tempurpedic Rhapsody!)"

"Our opinion is that this is the best mattress on the market today. For us, the Cloud was way to soft, the Rhapsody a bit too firm and we did not want a pillow top. This particular mattress just felt right, it gives us the perfect amount of support. We have owned it for 19 months and absolutely love it. My back and hips use to bother me first thing in the morning, but immediately after using this mattress, no more problems with those issues. My husbands also noticed a vast improvement and commented that he has never slept better in his life. Neither of us feel the movement of the other person. Many reviews say that it is hard to move in this bed yet I do not find that to be a problem. I can move easily. What I do find is that I sleep so well that I don't move around as much. Some say these mattresses sleep hot. RUBBISH! Over the years, my body runs hot during the night and it still does yet on this mattress I think it happens less than it did on our previous mattresses. The only negative issue experienced with this mattress is that it had an awful smell during the first week of ownership. My husband did not notice it, but I got terrible headache on Day 1 from the odor. I put baking soda on the mattress, opened windows, vacuumed and changed sheets daily for five days. Then poof, the odor was gone and it has been heavenly ever since. I still use extra deep sheets on this mattress and find that they work best because of the adjustable movement with the Advanced Ergo. Best sleep ever. The air beds are gimmicks, no way they offer this comfort and luxury."

"My wife and I had switched from the contour signature because it was giving me back pain and she did not find it firm enough. The contour select is excellent. The added firmness eliminated my back pain while being comfortable for side-sleeping. We also tried the contour but it is too firm for us. The only downside is the smell that stayed for a good month and a half even though we opened our windows everyday (we did not sleep in the bed the first three weeks)."

"Awesome bed, second Tempurpedic we have purchased we had a queen for ten years just upgraded to king. The whole purchase process was smooth and efficient, Jeff our sleep expert, guided us through the model changes since our last purchase and helped us choose the bed that was best for us. Delivery was just as smooth it arrived and was set up within seven days! We were told to expect a window of seven to fourteen days which we were fine with. Delivery team was very professional and courteous. We love this bed and our son is very happy with queen Tempurpedic we gave him."

"I am very satisfied with my King Contour Select Tempur-pedic so far. I had the mattress over 3 months now so far so good The customer Service at Denver Mattress Company in El Paso is wonderful. I tried the Cloud Supreme and it was to soft. In my opinion the Contour Select gives the best support since I have herniated disc in L4 and L5. I wake up in the morning more refreshed. It took me 2 months to adjust to the tempur-pedic. Now I could not imagine sleeping on anything else. I hope I will continue to be satisfied with this matress for next 20 years."

"just bougth it two weeks ago,the salesman guided me thru the full collection of tempurpedics laying for 10 minutes on each bed until finding the right one and i found this one was the best my body was needing,i'm 100% satisified and would recomend it to everyone to buy a tempurpedic, this is not a spending but a real wise investment"
