Q: Is a foundation necessary or can I use a Tempur mattress on the floor or on a tatami matt?
A: If you are going to use a platform bed then it's not necessary to use our foundation. Just make sure the slats are not more 2 inches apart. There is no particular thickness on the foundation, just make sure it is supportive enough to hold the mattress.
Q: What material is used for the foundation?
A: We use MDF material because of it's strength and durability. Note-aren't the new grey ones built differently then than the MDF Ecru ones?
Q: Can a TEMPUR mattress be put on a regular box spring?
A: You do not want to put the Tempur-Pedic on a box spring. Box springs have to much give and eventually the mattress will start to sag and void the warranty. It needs to be on a platform bed or the Tempur-Pedic foundation.
Q: Are all the king foundations split?
A: All King and CA King bases are split.
Q: Do I need to puchase a foundation or can I use a box spring base?
A: You must either use Tempur-Pedic foundation or a Platform bed. Putting the Tempur-Pedic on box springs will void the warranty. Our foundation looks like a box spring, there just aren't in springs in it, it's all wood.
Q: What is the height of the high, low & ultra low profile foundations?
A: The heights of the foundations are as folllows: High 9", Low 5" and Ultra Low 2".
Q: What guarantee does tempurpedic provide for the foundation?
A: Our foundations have a 10 year warranty for any defects and squeaking of the foundation.
Q: How do I know if I ordering a nine inch foundation?
A: The nine inch is classified as a High Profile.
I have a king size mattress, with a low profile foundation. I'd like to stack two foundations to make the bed sit taller. Is there an issue with this? If not, I will order another set.
Please let me know.
A: We would not recommend stacking two bases on top of each other due to the risk of the foundations slipping.
